About
Mid-Continent Prospect Expo, LLC (MidConExpo)
is an Oklahoma based corporation owned by brothers, Paul and
Tom Smart. Founded in 2007, the expo provides a venue for
mid-continent producers to buy and sell prospects and properties.
On May 6 and 7, 2008 in Oklahoma City, the first annual expo was
launched. Eighty companies were on exhibition to an audience of
nearly 1,000 attendees. In addition, a prominent list of speakers
representing capital providers, producers, and service companies made
presentations over the 2-day event.
Paul
Smart serves as Managing Director of the MidConExpo and is a partner in
Smart Brothers LLC, which is an oil and gas property marketing firm.
Mr. Smart has been on the service side of the energy business for 29
years. He was a partner in the energy marketing firm EBCO USA,
Incorporated and served as its Chief Executive Officer from 1993 until
2000. Mr. Smart is a Wildcatter member of the OIPA and has been a
member of the Texas Auctioneers Association since 1983.
Tom
Smart is a partner in the MidConExpo and in Smart Brothers LLC.
Mr. Smart has been in the oil and gas industry for more than 25
years. He was a partner and served as Senior Vice President of
EBCO USA, Incorporated from 1993 until 2000. Mr. Smart serves on
the board of Mustard Seed Development, which is a nonprofit charitable
organization in Oklahoma City. He is a long time supporter of the
OIPA and is currently a Wildcatter member.
The preeminent sponsor of the expo is the
OIPA, which is the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association.
The OIPA and the Smart brothers work together to promote the event and
bring aboard exhibitors from the Oklahoma and mid-continent community of
producers and service providers. A portion of the proceeds from
the MidConExpo is contributed to the OIPA.
